Bridlewood is an appropriate name when you consider that this relatively new neighbourhood sits in the shadow of the famed Spruce Meadows Equestrian Centre. Developed in 1998, the Calgary, Alberta, Canada locale is flanked on the east by the Bridlewood Creek Wetlands and the equestrian center is to the south. This entire area is in the south-western end of the city.

This neighbourhood is made up of single family structures, with more than 95 percent of them owner-occupied. By 2006 the area had grown to 7,298 residents. The average household income is above average, coming at $70,477, with roughly 6 percent of residents sitting in the lower income range. Bridlewood is part of the Ward 13 representation district on the city council.

Schools nearby include Bridlewood Elementary, part of the Calgary Public Schools District, the Monsignor J.J. O’Brien Catholic School and the Glenmore Christian Academy. The Learning Experience is a private outfit that offers classes for pre-school and kindergarten age children. A shopping/commercial district is to the north along 162nd Ave SW and the closest mall, Shawnessy Centre, is east of the neighbourhood.
