Erlton Real Estate – Homes & Condos For Sale

The inner city neighbourhood or Erlton in the south west quarter of Calgary, Alberta, Canada puts you right next door to the grounds of the Calgary Stampede. The area was established back in 1906 and today is made up of nearly 70 percent condos or apartments. Just over 40 percent of the properties in Erlton are rentals.

The northern end is framed by the scenic Elbow River and the historic Macleod Trails SW bisects the area from north to south.  Spiller Road SE and part of the Macleod Trail SW brings up the eastern edge. To the south is Mission Rd SW, while the western border is rather irregular, winding around Roxboro Park in the south and following the Elbow River as you head north.

The Talisman Centre is on the very northern end of Erlton, set in a curve of the Elbow River. Formerly called the Lindsay Park Sports Center, it dates back to 1983 when it was the venue for the Western Canada Summer Games. Today it hosts both professional and amateur sporting events as well as classes for swimming, yoga and the like. The Erlton/Stampede LRT station stops nearby.

The closest schools include St. Mary’s High and St. Monica Elementary/Junior High, both just outside the northern border. A Montessori School and Western Canada High are both to the west. Deer Valley Shopping Centre is to the north and North Hill Centre is roughly two miles west. The shops, services and entertainment venues of downtown Calgary are barely a mile north.
