Sitting in the south-western corner of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the community of Glamorgan was founded in 1958.  To the north is the lazy curve of Richmond Rd SW, to the east is 37th St. SW and Glenmore Trail SW, or Route 8, brings up the south. The eastern edge is bordered by the Sarcee Trail SW and largely undeveloped land.

Less than 70 percent of homes are of the single-family variety, with the remainder being apartments and condominiums. Rentals make up 37 percent of the available housing.  The Glamorgan Community Centre offers child care before and after school hours, an outdoor ice rink, soccer field and softball diamond. The GlamShak is a new building next to the outdoor hockey ice rink, used by the players from Grassroots Hockey and Soccer.

Grey Eagle Casino & Bingo is just south of the Glenmore Trail SW. Schools in the area includes Glamorgan Elementary, part of the Calgary Public School System, and the Catholic St. Andrew Elementary. The closest shopping center is Richmond Square, to the north. Westhills Shopping Centre, a larger facility, is west of the Sarcee Trail.
