Glenbrook Real Estate – Homes & Condos For Sale

Glenbrook sits just south of Glendale in southwest Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It’s bordered on the north by 26th Ave SW, to the east by 37th St. SW and on the west by the Sarcee Trail SW. Richmond Rd SW curves along the southern end. Founded in 1958, the neighbourhood sits on land that was annexed to the City of Calgary in two sections. The first was in 1954 and the second in 1956.

Glenbrook started out with mostly single family homes, but over the years a number of condominiums and apartments were added. Today roughly 35 percent of available homes are in these two housing categories. About 55 percent of homes are owner occupied. Quite a few properties in the neighbourhood have views of the Rocky Mountains and Strathcona Heights.

Schools in the area include St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary and St. Gregory Elementary/Junior High, both Catholic facilities. Glenbrook Elementary and A.E. Cross Junior High are part of the Calgary Public School District. Westhills Shopping Centre and Richmond Square are the closest shopping malls, in the southwest corner.

Glenbrook also has easy access to the Optimist Athletic Park, just over the northwest boundary. This multipurpose sports complex is used by various leagues for practice and tournament play. Facilities include softball diamond, soccer, lacrosse, football and field hockey areas.
